The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDAA), with support from the Public Financial Management and Institutional Strengthening Project (PFMIS), conducted a hands-on training on preparation and publication of procurement information on the PPDAA Tender Portal. The training was held at the General Accounting and Training Centre (GATC) in Juba on 19 August 2026.
The training brought together 30 participants, including procurement officers and Tender Portal focal persons representing 14 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, as well as PPDAA officers and facilitators. The activity formed part of PPDAA’s continuing efforts to improve transparency, accountability and public access to procurement information.
Participants received practical guidance on preparing Annual Procurement Plans, tender advertisements, summary advertisements and tender-award information using the approved templates. They were also taken through the Tender Portal workflow, including accessing entity accounts, entering procurement information, uploading supporting documents, reviewing entries and confirming information displayed on the public portal.
The training particularly emphasised the importance of publishing approved procurement plans, current procurement opportunities and awarded contracts accurately and within the required timelines. Participants were also reminded to observe the minimum bidding periods prescribed under the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Regulations, 2024.
Following the training, PPDAA will continue working with participating MDAs to address outstanding access and documentation issues and support the publication of eligible procurement information. The Authority will also monitor progress and provide targeted assistance to entities requiring additional support.
The initiative supports PPDAA’s broader objective of strengthening procurement compliance and ensuring that citizens, businesses and other stakeholders have timely access to reliable information on public procurement opportunities and contract awards.
