PPDAA Concludes Training for Procurement Officers from MDAs and PPDAA staff

The Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDAA) successfully concluded a ten-day training programme for procurement officers from Ministries, Departments and Agencies and PPDAA staff on 17 July 2026 at the Juba Grand Hotel. The training was conducted from 6 to 17 July 2026 with support from the Public Financial Management and Institutional Strengthening Project.

The programme brought together 37 officers and formed part of PPDAA’s continuing efforts to strengthen the knowledge, competence and professionalism of officers responsible for public procurement and disposal of assets across government institutions. It was the third training programme in the series, following earlier cohorts conducted from 24 November to 5 December 2025 and from 23 February to 6 March 2026.
Participants received practical guidance on the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act, 2018; the Regulations, 2024; the Public Procurement and Disposal Manual; Standard Bidding Documents; guidelines; procedural forms; and other instruments developed by PPDAA. The training covered procurement planning, procurement methods, preparation of bidding documents, bid and proposal evaluation, contract management, records management, asset management and lawful disposal of public assets.

The programme combined presentations, practical exercises, case studies, group discussions and assessments. The entry and exit quiz results demonstrated a clear improvement in participants’ understanding of public procurement requirements. The average score increased by 6.9 percentage points, while 84.4% of participants with comparable results improved their performance. No participant who completed the exit quiz scored below 70%.
During the closing ceremony, participants who met the applicable attendance and completion requirements were awarded certificates of participation. They were encouraged to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in their respective institutions and to support improved procurement planning, compliance, transparency, accountability and value for money.
