The Guest of Honour, Hon. Pieng Deng Kuol, Minister of East African Community Affairs, presented commemorative gifts to international delegates during the closing ceremony of the 17th East African Procurement Forum in Juba on 14 May 2026.
The gifts were presented as a gesture of appreciation for the delegates’ active participation and valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the Forum. They also symbolised South Sudan’s hospitality, cultural heritage and friendship with the East African Community Partner States represented at the regional gathering.
The international delegates included heads and Chief Executive Officers of public procurement regulatory authorities, senior officials and procurement professionals from across the East African region. During the four-day Forum, they shared national experiences, discussed common procurement challenges and contributed to resolutions aimed at strengthening transparency, beneficial ownership disclosure, electronic procurement, professionalisation and regional cooperation.
The presentation of the gifts provided a memorable conclusion to the Forum and reflected the spirit of unity and partnership that characterised the regional event. South Sudan expressed its appreciation to the delegates for their commitment to advancing public procurement reforms and strengthening institutional cooperation across the East African Community.
