Juba, South Sudan – The Republic of South Sudan is pleased to announce that it will host the 17th East African Procurement Forum (EAPF) from 11th to 14th May 2026 at the Bank of South Sudan, Jebel – Juba.
The Forum, organized by the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDAA), is a premier regional platform that brings together procurement professionals, policymakers, development partners, and private sector stakeholders to deliberate on key issues shaping public procurement systems in East Africa.
This year’s Forum will be held under the theme: “Enhancing Beneficial Ownership Disclosure in Public Procurement Systems.”
The theme reflects the growing importance of transparency in identifying the true owners of companies participating in public procurement. Discussions will focus on strengthening disclosure frameworks, improving accountability, curbing corruption, and promoting fair competition in public procurement processes.
The Forum is expected to attract participants from across the East African region and beyond, including representatives from procurement regulatory authorities, government institutions, international organizations, and the business community. It will provide an opportunity for sharing experiences, best practices, and innovations aimed at improving procurement performance and governance.
The event will be officially opened by H.E. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan, together with the Honourable Minister of Finance and Planning, demonstrating the Government’s high-level commitment to strengthening public procurement systems and promoting transparency and accountability.
Hosting the 17th EAPF marks a significant milestone for South Sudan as it continues to implement reforms under its public procurement legal and institutional framework. The Forum will also serve as an important avenue for enhancing regional cooperation and aligning procurement practices with international standards.
