Executive Director Message

In the last two years, the Republic of South Sudan has made significant progress in establishing its public procurement and disposal of assets system.  His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, the President of the Republic of South Sudan, kick-started the process by appointing Board Members and Executive Director of the Authority on 17th February 2023.

The establishment of PPDAA is not only proof of the Government of South Sudan's commitment towards ensuring prudent spending of public financial resources but also a commitment of the Government to implement Section 4.6.1 of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan 2018.

Major achievements made by PPDAA since its establishment include approval of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Regulations which were recently signed and issued by the Minister of Finance and Planning on 17th October 2024. Following that, the Board approved ten Standard Bidding Documents for Goods, Works, Consultancy, and Non-Consultancy Services, thereby finalizing the legal framework for procuring and disposing of assets activities in South Sudan.

The launch of this website marks another important milestone in setting up our public procurement and disposal of assets system in South Sudan.  As per its objectives and functions, the Authority is required to share various information and documents with the Procuring Entities and Service Providers. In addition, PPDAA is required to provide a platform where all procuring Entities will post procurement and disposal of assets bid opportunities as well as announce the winners of various bids.  All these will be achieved through this website which forms a single point of access to all procurement and disposal of assets opportunities including procurements of externally financed projects/programs in the Republic of South Sudan.

As the Executive Director of PPDAA, I therefore take this opportunity to welcome you to this website. We will very much cherish your views and comments aimed at improving the look and the content of the website. I thank the support provided by the World Bank through the Public Financial Management and Institutional Strengthening Project (PFMIS) in supporting procurement reforms in the Republic of South Sudan and in the development of this website.
